Males generally lag behind females when it comes to breeding condition. Therefore, put them in the breeding cages first and raise the temperature to a maximum of 18°C, with the light hours around 14.5 hours. Place a few dolls in front of the cages — you'll quickly notice which men respond. Give extra egg food three times a week, and after a week and a half you can introduce the pupae to the males. If both birds are in good breeding condition, the pairing will proceed quickly. That's a good sign that everything is on track. Some couples start a little later, but most go without any problems.
