The fact that a bird is careful with its feathering is clearly visible — both in nature and in the bird enclosure. The bird largely does this itself, but we have to help it by making certain things available. In nature, the bird itself looks for what it needs: water to bathe in, places to bathe in the sand. A bird hardly takes shelter in a heavy rain shower — it knows how important it is. Our birds in cages and aviaries do not always have that freedom. We as enthusiasts must support them in this, including by ensuring:
