Ornithosis.
This is one of the most important forms of diarrhea and nest death in canaries. Diarrhea in these young birds is often caused by malignant germs (E. Coli and many other enterobacteriacea). The young birds are infected by their parents' manure when laying the egg or in the first weeks of life. Intestinal inflammation occurs due to the strong growth of bacteria (E. coli) in the intestine. The bacteria produce toxins and can therefore cause blood poisoning in the young.
