Every bird lover sooner or later is confronted with diseases or other ailments. This not only produces poor breeding results — it is also personally painful when a newly purchased bird dies, or a loyal bird you have cared for for years. "Prevention is better than cure" is all too applicable here.
Prevention requires good care and proper nutrition. Cage and aviary birds used to live in the wild — so make sure their living conditions are simulated as closely as possible.
