The pastel factor originated around 1957. Through selective breeding, stock breeding and accurate recording of inheritances, what we now consider normal has gradually emerged: the pastel factor, also called the second reduction factor. Its action is based on reducing eumelanin granules, mainly those present in the stripes of our birds - both black and brown eumelanin. The effect is that the drawing becomes lighter in color due to the reduction of eumelanin grains.
