What to do when young canaries hatch.
During breeding, the birds are quiet and the breeder occasionally shows curious excitement when the eggs are fertilized. It is a quiet yet exciting period. Make sure the humidity is good — about 60 to 65% — and that the birds can bathe regularly. No egg food is given during the incubation period. The birds receive a good seed mixture, fresh water every day and some vitamins every week. On the fourteenth day some egg food is offered, and there are usually young ones in the nest box at that time.
