THE FAT COLORS - Part 10.
Fatty colors determine the ground color of our color canaries, ranging from yellow to red. As previously discussed in relation to pigment formation, according to the classical view, the enzyme "tyrosinase" plays an important role in the construction of melanins. When this enzyme action is fully present (E+), as in the wild form of the wild canary, this results in a melanized canary. If the enzyme is not active (E), we get a fatty substance canary. If the enzyme factor only works partially, fur formation occurs.
