Recessive white (English white) Part 11a.
The recessive white or English white factor produces completely white birds, caused by the complete carotenoid-inhibiting factor cb.
The eyes here are black to reddish brown. The horn parts are slate-colored, with a slightly lilac tint. The skin is light purple-lilac in color. The blood of these canaries would also be slightly darker than normal. The recessive white cannot produce vitamin A itself, so this must be supplemented regularly to keep the birds in good condition.
