The red roan (formerly the salmon canary) — I have been breeding red grizzles for almost 25 years — or were they salmon? I can therefore say that I have gained extensive experience with this bird species, supplemented with about 20 years of experience as a judge. All this time I have closely witnessed the transition from salmon to red roan. I've always had a lot of trouble with that, and haven't completely figured it out yet.
